Description
Iris japonica, commonly called fringed or Japanese irises, are perennial plants native to China and Japan, where they thrive along the edges of forests, on rocky hillsides, and in moist, open grasslands. They grow in U.S. Department of Agriculture plant hardiness zones 7 through 10. Japanese irises work well as container plants, and are attractive in rock gardens or in flowerbeds. You can also use them as ground cover plants because of their showy evergreen foliage.
This beautiful wild iris that now abundantly grows in my garden was given to me by my friend Carmen, from her garden, hence the title. I hope you enjoy it's exquisite delicateness and beauty as much I do every spring.
